Bear
Creek Trail
Distance: 2.5 mi. one way
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Description: A 325-acre mountain canyon that
has been preserved forever by the town’s Telluride Land
Trust. Stunning scenery and a beautiful waterfall.
Access: Trailhead starts at south end of
Pine.Follow Bear Creek up scenic canyon to waterfall. Pick
up your Bear Creek trail guide from local bookstores or Telluride’s
Park & Rec. Dept. in town park.
Bridal
Veil Falls
Distance: 1.2 mi. one way to bottom of falls
Difficulty: Moderate to difficult
Access: East end of highway 145. Hike on
dirt road 1.2 miles to bottom of falls, or 2.2 miles to top.
Jud
Wiebe Trail
Distance: 2.7 mi. loop
Difficulty: Moderate to difficult (a local
favorite)
Access: East on Tomboy Rd (look for trailhead
on left) or north end of Aspen. The trail loops above town
through Aspen groves and an old growth area. Magnificent views
of town and surrounding peaks.
San
Miguel River Trail
Distance: 2.5 mi. one way from Town Park
to the valley floor.
Difficulty: Easy
Access: From Town Park the trail follows
the San Miguel River along the southern edge of town to the
valley floor. |
